Nurses represented by the ONA began Oregon's largest nurses strike on Friday, Jan. 10, morning, involving nearly 5,000 healthcare professionals protesting at Providence hospitals and clinics around the state.

Providence Medical Group announced a tentative deal with doctors and nurses and other providers who work at Providence Women’s Clinic.

In a statement released on the night of Sunday, Feb. 2, Providence spokesperson Gary Walker said this “agreement marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing exceptional health care services.”

This deal only covers the Providence Women’s Clinic workers at six locations. Thousands of nurses who work at the Providence hospitals throughout the state remain on strike.

The Oregon Nurses Association confirmed the tentative deal and said a ratification vote begins Monday and closes at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
