April 1, 1929 – January 8, 2025 – Sidney died in Dallas, Texas where she had moved after living in Lake Oswego, Oregon for over forty years.

She was born to Clifford and Viola Toraason of Owen, Wisconsin. She was an April Fool’s Day surprise while her mother visited her parents in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Sidney was educated in the Owen school system and continued at the University of Wisconsin obtaining a degree in Education and Music (specialty piano). She later obtained a master’s degree in music.

Sidney met William Klammer from Kaukauna, and they were married in 1957. She taught elementary school music in Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, and Oregon, following Bill’s career at General Motors.

Sidney started playing the organ at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Owen while she was in High School. She continued to offer her talent at the churches she and Bill attended during their marriage. She last played organ at Triumphant King Lutheran Church in Lake Oswego, Oregon where she ended her 70 plus year career!

After Bill retired from GMAC, he became mayor of Lake Oswego from 1997 until 2001. Sidney loved entertaining and traveling with Bill while he was mayor. She especially enjoyed the connections they made through the Japanese sister city program.

Sidney is survived by her brother Clifford Toraason (Elizabeth) of Dallas, Texas; her niece Sarah Toraason (Jason Dennis) also of Dallas; her nephew Captain William Toraason (Jamie) of Aiea, Hawaii; her niece Nell Baughn (Brad) of Seattle, Washington; and seven grandnieces and nephews.

A private burial will be held in the future in Wisconsin.

Memorial donations may be sent to Alzheimer’s Research.
