Rose City 5K Run set for downtown on May 20

A socially-distanced 5K run to help revitalize downtown Portland is scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 20.

The Rose City 5K Run is sponsored by the Portland Business Alliance and presented by Nike. It will take place along the seawall in Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
A portion of proceeds from the event will go to support the Portland Parks Foundation and their work to maintain and support the city’s parks system. Donations by runners totaling up to $1,500 will be matched by the alliance.
Race participants receive a Nike Dri-FIT T-shirt, Rose City 5K tote with goodies, a complimentary post-race drink at a participating venue, and a Race bib and chip timer. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group, as well as the fastest team, determined by the cumulative time for the five fastest runners on each team.

Because of current COVID-19 restrictions, runners will be socially distanced and required to wear face masks while running and throughout the entire event. All runners will need to sign a waiver to participate.
