No one does football uniforms quite the way Oregon does.

It’s been a long standing tradition for the Ducks to always be the best dressed team on the field, ranging from throwbacks to collaborations with Jordan Brand as well as a set last season to honor the late Spencer Webb.

The 2024 season will see the Ducks usher in a new era of uniform as they enter a new era of the program with their move to the Big Ten. The new uniforms are dubbed the ‘Generation O’ uniform set. The announcement of the new uniforms was made on X, formerly Twitter, by the official Oregon Ducks football account.

In the video, Oregon’s football equipment administrator Kenny Farr told the uniform design committee that the new uniforms will be the basis of how the Ducks do uniforms for the next three seasons. Farr goes on to say that the uniforms range from throwback to futuristic.

“We’ve got some stuff cooking,” inside linebacker Jeffrey Bassa said about the new uniforms, grinning but keeping any information close to his chest. “It was great just to sit down and in the room with (Farr) and seeing everything that he has planned for the year (down) to the little details. You know, what helmet we’re going to wear, what socks we’re going to wear. It was just amazing to be a part of history. This is going to be a huge year for the uniforms and I know a lot of people are excited.”

Beyond Bassa, the uniform design committee included wide receivers Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden, as well as offensive lineman Marcus Harper, the latter of whom Bassa said was a surprise.

“I don’t know why,” Harper said in retaliation. “I’ve got some drip too, my goodness. Big people can have drip too.”

Harper teased a bit more than Bassa did, saying that some of the throwbacks and color schemes would be similar to things done during the Chip Kelly era in the early 2010s.

The current set of uniforms that Oregon employs stylistically date back to 2018 during the Justin Herbert era, when the program debuted the set of uniforms with larger-than-normal jersey numbers.

While a release or unveil date for the Generation O uniforms currently isn’t known or announced, the players who have seen the uniforms already have raved about the look, with Johnson putting it very simply.

“We’ve got some heat coming,” Johnson said. “Stay tuned.”
