Pedestrian killed in hit and run late Thursday

A pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Northeast Portland late Thursday.

The name of the victim was not immediately released. No one was arrested and no suspect information was available.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, at 11:48 p.m. on Sept. 29, North Precinct officers were dispatched on a report of a pedestrian-involved crash in the 4000 block of Northeast 122nd Avenue. When officers and paramedics arrived, they located the pedestrian, who appeared to be an adult male. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity will be confirmed later by the medical examiner.The driver involved left the scene and was not immediately located.
The Portland Police Major Crash Team responded to continue the investigation. During the early stages, Northeast 122nd Avenue was closed in both directions between Northeast Fremont and Skidmore streets.
