Thorns pull even at Chicago

For the first time this season, the Portland Thorns didn’t win.

But they didn’t lose Saturday night, either, against a formidable foe in the Chicago Red Stars.
The Thorns and Red Stars played to a 2-2 draw at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex in Lisle, Ill.
Portland recovered after giving up two goals to Chicago forward Christen Press in the opening eight minutes.

Christine Sinclair scored for the Thorns in the 29th minute off an assist by Allie Long, and Mana Shim got the equalizer in the 47th minute.
Chicago goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc made six saves, and Nadine Angerer had three saves for Portland.
The Thorns are 2-0-1 (7 points) in the National Women’s Soccer League. Chciago is 1-0-1 (4 points).
Announced attendance was 2,136.
