Peace of mind, safety, and health
"Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful."
Winter in Oregon can be harsh with biting winds and snow. As we age, weather can play a vital role to our safety, security, and well-being.
During the cold months, seniors are more prone to health-related issues such as high-blood pressure, flaring arthritis, and influenza.
The threat of breaking a bone from a fall is common for seniors, and the healing time is slow and difficult, especially if living alone. Medications that cause dizziness, failing vision, and poor lighting all contribute to the likelihood of falling. According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, one-third of adults over 65 years old fall each year many resulting in emergency room visits.
Our lodge is helped kept warm by two fireplaces and residents enjoy the heated mineral saline pool and spa. All utility expenses are inclusive, so residents are able to keep their apartments at the temperature they are most comfortable.
To help with safety concerns, all apartments feature an emergency pull-cords system, bathroom grab bars to help prevent falls, and on-site managers to support residents.
Plus, Beaverton Lodge residents benefit from our warm, healthy meals and daily activities.
