Spring has sprung at Beaverton Farmers Market
STRAWBERRIES, APRICOTS, AND CHERRIES, oh my! And don't forget the blueberries.
There's a well-SPRING of sun-kissed fruit at Beaverton Farmers Market. We have plenty of fresh stock and more is arriving weekly. Last week, The Oregon Strawberry Commission was on-hand to highlight the beloved "Hood" strawberry and its intense, sweet flavor. The OSC provided samples, interactive surveys, greeted farmers and supported a social media communication campaign. Berry lovers learned about optimum berry growing climates and the passionate commitment grower families make to Oregon strawberries. California may have perpetual sunshine, but we have the best strawberries!
Spring vegetables are in abundance too. Peas of all kinds, fava beans, asparagus, garlic, spring onions, and mushrooms, including, morels, porcini, and white truffles. Young root vegetables are tender and delicious now, we have been waiting all winter for the taste of spring- look out for fresh beets, and carrots and a wide variety of potatoes.
Make sure to stop by the market on June 30th, our most popular day. Set before the 4th of July, we will be celebrating our nation's independence with the Beaverton Community Band, who will play their popular line-up of marches, swing, patriotic and easy-listening pop tunes. Stock up for your 4th of July celebration with flowers, fruits, vegetables, meats, desserts, hard cider, and so much more.
Open 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Saturday-come enjoy the bounty of spring with us, breath in the fresh air and connect with your community.
