Other local leaders to participate in Tuesday evening event

Sen. Mark Hass, D-Beaverton, will host a meeting to discuss progress on Oregon’s education goals on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Beaverton High School, 13000 S.W. Second St.

Hass, who serves as chairman of the Senate Education and Workforce Development Committee, will provide an update on progress Oregon has made towards its "40-40-20" goal. The name refers to 40 percent of adult Oregonians holding a bachelor’s degree or greater, 40 percent holding an associate’s degree, and all state residents completing high school.

Hass, a Democrat representing Oregon's 14th district, will be joined by Rep. Tobias Read, D-Beaverton, and Jeff Barker, D-Aloha, Oregon Deputy Superintendent of Education Rob Saxton, Chief Education Officer Nancy Golden, and Jeff Rose, superintendent of the Beaverton School District.
