Come meet the candidates to chair the county commission at a March 1 debate in Tigard.

The public is invited to meet the candidates for chairman of the Washington County Board of Commissioners at a forum set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Broadway Rose, 12850 S.W. Grant Ave., Tigard. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7 p.m.

The chairman of the five-member Board of Commissioners is an at-large, non-partisan position with a four-year term.

Four people are in the race: Ryan Deckert spent 10 years in the Oregon Legislature; Kathryn Harrington has served for a decade as Metro Councilor; Bob Terry is serving his second term as Washington County Commissioner; and Shabba Woodley ran in the Democratic primary for U.S. Congress in 2016.
