Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to 911 calls and found several acres on fire, with flames spreading quickly due to shifting winds and dry vegetation.

Firefighters used brush rigs — trucks designed to fight outdoor, field fires as opposed to building fires — to contain the fire and to prevent it from spreading to nearby structures. Water tenders were used to shuttle water to the scene. PHOTO COURTESY TVF&R - Tuesday's fire in a field of cut hay grew to almost 20 acres.

After approximately 90 minutes of battling the fire, which had grown to nearly 20 acres, the fire was deemed under control. No structures were burned and no injuries occurred as a result of the fire.

The fire is under investigation. The cause is unknown at this time.

TVF&R was assisted by Lake Oswego Fire Department and Hillsboro Fire and Rescue.
