Washington County plans public presentation for state of the county
Washington County will use a different format to present the state of county government this year.
All five county commissioners, plus five other elected officials, will speak at the public presentation. The program will start at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the Conestoga Recreation and Aquatic Center, 9985 S.W. 125th Ave., Beaverton.
The program is free, but preregistration is at this website:
Chairwoman Kathryn Harrington and Commissioners Roy Rogers, Dick Schouten, Pam Treece and Jerry Willey will speak. Others are Sheriff Pat Garrett, District Attorney Kevin Barton, Auditor John Hutzler, Judge Charles Bailey of Circuit Court and Judge Dan Cross of Justice Court.
In past years, the Washington County board chair gave a formal address, usually at a breakfast of the Westside Economic Alliance. Last year, outgoing Chairman Andy Duyck did it in a question-and-answer format at a WEA breakfast at Nike world headquarters in Beaverton.
Clackamas County has used a similar format with all five commissioners speaking.
