The Greater Portland Flute Society presents Oregon Symphony flutists Jessica Sindell, Alicia DiDonato Paulsen and Zachariah Galatis in recital on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Cedar Hills United Church of Christ, 11695 S.W. Park Way.

They will be accompanied by pianist Cary Lewis in a program of their favorite repertoire.

Sindell is the newly appointed principal flutist of the Oregon Symphony. She holds a bachelor of music degree from the Eastman School of Music and has appeared in numerous nationally acclaimed summer music festivals, including the Mainly Mozart Festival in San Diego, Aspen Music, Lake Tahoe Summerfest and Ohio Light.

Paulsen is the Oregon Symphony’s assistant principal flutist. Paulsen had a long and varied freelance career in Boston prior to moving to Portland. She was a member of Boston Musica Viva, the Opera Boston orchestra and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. She frequently appeared with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops, was a member of the New World Symphony and was twice a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center.

Galatis graduated summa cum laude with performance honors from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. A New York native, he earned a master of music degree from Peabody Conservatory. He is working on a doctorate under the tutelage of world-renowned soloist Marina Piccinini at Peabody.

Tickets for this special performance are available in advance and at the door. General admission is $15; $10 for society members. Discounted advance tickets for groups of 10 or more are also available.
