Thanks offered for help with fundraising event

To the editor:

We would like to thank all the community members and businesses who helped make Baker Prairie's Jan. 24 family bingo night such a great success.

Our families had a great time together and we raised a lot of money for our Parent, Teacher, Student Association. This money will go toward funding honor roll breakfasts, special guest speakers and many other educational activities for our kids.

We realize that businesses in Canby get asked for donations often. We really appreciate your generosity. Thanks, especially, to: Backstop Bar & Grill, Lego Bricks and Minifigs, Burgerville, Canby Cinema, Aura Salon, Club Fit, Fultanos, Gustafson Insurance, Canby Car Wash, Wild Hare, and Team Unger Realtors for donating gift certificates and prizes. It takes a village.

Do yourself a favor, go see ‘Guys & Dolls’ at theater

To the editor:

The Canby High School theater department will be putting on a new production this week, ‘Guys & Dolls.’

I hope the community will take the time to see one of the shows to appreciate not only the talent that these kids have, but their hard work, too.

Theater kids don’t get all the accolades of sports kids, but they work hard and have a talent that is unique and a gift to the community. Go see ‘Guys & Dolls.’
