Garden fair fun

They came, they saw, they acquired -- that was the rhythm of this year’s Spring Garden Fair at the Clackamas County Event Center Saturday and Sunday. Upwards of 15,000 visitors poured through the gates of the facility looking for something specific of just in need of tapping into the yard and garden lover. in themselves. Garden vendors from the Pacific Northwest offered veggies and herbs, perennials and annuals, trees and shrubs, as well as other specialized items. And when shoppers were done, the plant taxi crew was on hand to cart purchases around the fair and to vehicles for a donation. The fair’s free 10 Minute University classes proved popular again as experts talked about topics such as sustainable gardening information to ensure success. Other classes included “Attracting Pollinators to your Garden,” will be held along with favorites such as “Growing Tomatoes,” “Growing Blueberries” and “Managing Slugs and Snails.”
