The forward became the first Bruins player since 2003 to log at least two multi-goal games in a season.

Meek, who graduated from Canby High School in 2010, scored four goals in his final season with the Bruins (1-19, 0-14 in the Northwest Conference).

Two of his goals came in the second half of George Fox’s 4-0 win at Northwest Christian on Sept. 2, the program’s only triumph of its 2013 campaign.

With two more goals in the Bruins’ 5-3 loss to Whitworth on the road Sept. 28, Meek became the program’s first player in 10 years with two or more multiple-goal games in a single season. The last George Fox players to have more than one multi-goal game in a season were Chris Laughland and Kris Van Houten in 2003, each with a pair of two-goal games.

Meek’s four goals this year marked notable progress for the 5-foot-10, 150-pound forward, who scored just three goals combined in his first three years with the program.

He started in 12 of his team’s 20 games this season under former Woodburn High School coach Luis Del Rio, tallying eight points to rank second in the category behind junior teammate Luke Hammer (12).

Meek was named one of the Northwest Conference’s student-athletes of the week for Sept. 2-8. He was also the Bruin Athletic Club men’s athlete of the week for the same time period.

As a senior at Canby, Meek earned second-team all-league honors in the Pacific Conference. Alongside former teammates Eddie Sanchez, Parker Forrest, Vin Thoroughman and others, he helped the Cougars earn a 7-6-1 overall record in the fall of 2009. The high school program has not had a winning season since then.

Meek wrapped up his collegiate soccer career when George Fox faced Pacific at home Nov. 9 in Newberg. He was honored during a ceremony before the match.
