Coach: Randy Brack (28th year)

Last year: 18-9 (14-1 in the Tri-Valley Conference); lost to Klamath Union in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs

Key players: senior shortstop Kyle Williamson, senior pitcher/second baseman Brock Breshears, senior first baseman Tristan Wampole

Key losses: Wyatt Moore, Keltin Boykin

Outlook: After winning a league title last season for the first time since 2010, North Marion is vying for a deeper run in the playoffs with a roster that features the reigning league player of the year (Kyle Williamson), the 2013 pitcher of the year (Brock Breshears) and first-team all-state honoree Tristan Wampole.



Coach: Rachel Camp (first year)

Last year: 16-12 (6-9 in the Tri-Valley Conference); lost to defending state champion Banks in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs

Key players: Kylie Gonzales, Michaela Meeuwsen

Key losses: Katlin Wampole, Chelsea Luna, Loren Hahn

Outlook: Under new coach Rachel Camp, who replaces Neil Forste at the helm, North Marion will attempt to build on a 2013 season in which it averaged a league-best 7.32 runs per game and amassed double-digit runs 12 times. Clackamas Community College signee Kylie Gonzales and fellow first-team all-conference infielder Michaela Meeuwsen return to lead the Huskies.



Coach: Bill Crumley

Last year: Advanced one golfer to the state tournament

Key players: Ben Crumley, Nathan Jones, Sierra Miller, Cassidy Costello

Outlook: Led by a returning state qualifier in senior Ben Crumley and a fellow all-league honoree in junior Derek Jones, the North Marion boys golf team figures to be competitive in the Tri-Valley Conference with the help of two other returning golfers in senior Nathan Jones and sophomore Cole Durst. The Huskies’ roster also includes sophomore Austin Barton and freshmen Tanner Scanlan and Justin Hanson. On the girls side, junior Sierra Miller and sophomore Cassidy Costello will represent North Marion.



Coach: Caleb Barnes (first year)

Last year: Qualified two players for the state singles championships

Key players: Austin Berkey, Ethan Berkey

Outlook: District security director Caleb Barnes, who has also served as an assistant football coach, takes the helm as the third North Marion boys tennis coach in three years. The program will attempt be represented at the state tournament for the third time in five seasons.



Coach: Pat O’Dell (27th year)

Last year: 11-4; advanced one singles player to the district quarterfinals but was not represented at the state tournament

Key players: Emma Snyder, Naily Nevarez, Kayla Parkinson, Victoria Suchanski

Key losses: Katie Zwicker, Denise Bahena, Serena Sweningson, Miranda Snyder

Outlook: Junior singles player Emma Snyder takes the No. 1 slot after reaching the district quarterfinals last season, when she came within one win of qualifying for the state tournament. Many players will be asked to take a step up in competition for a team that lost six seniors to graduation.



Coach: Erin Holm

Last year: Was represented by two girls at the state championships; took fifth on the girls side and sixth on the boys side at the district meet

Key athletes: Hannah Waite, Angela Sprecher, Aaron Caballero, Christian Parr

Key losses: Kelln Pippert, Chandra Hammond

Outlook: North Marion will aim to be represented at the state meet for the fourth season in a row. Last year’s two qualifiers — Hannah Waite (300-meter hurdles), who placed sixth overall, and Angela Sprecher (discus) — are both eligible returnees.
