Decision was made because the buildings are not suitable for a new use and haven't provoked interest from a new owner

Les Schwab Tire Centers announced that later this month it will begin to improve its former Prineville office property by demolishing the outdated buildings on site.

According to a Friday news release, the buildings in their current configuration haven't been suitable for a new use or garnered interest from a new owner.

"Les Schwab is proud of our roots in Prineville," said Dale Thompson, chief marketing officer. "And we know our success wouldn't be possible without our small-town values – putting customers first, standing behind our products and services, and doing the right thing. Improving the parcel that housed the original office will position it for new uses that continue to serve the local community."

More than 65 years after opening its doors, Les Schwab has continued to grow and evolve, the company stated, and improving this lot will open it as well for exciting future options.
