Prineville Railway employees to speak at this weeks Whats Brewing?

If you are looking for volunteer opportunities, the St. Charles Pioneer Memorial Hospital Volunteers Auxiliary is now taking applications. They are looking for volunteers for the gift shop, greeters, and the medical surgical floor. Volunteers need to be compassionate, responsible, and enjoy visiting with both patients and visitors to the facility. If you enjoy helping others and giving back, you may pick up an application at the gift shop at Pioneer Memorial Hospital.

Ready in time for Mother’s Day, Younglife of Crook County is holding a summer camp fundraiser through May 5. Younglife members are pre-selling flower baskets, from which they will earn the entire price towards their summer camp fees. Pre-sold flower baskets will be available for pick-up at the Younglife building on Saturday, May 10. The "What’s Brewing?" weekly community forum will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 7 to 8 a.m., at Meadow Lakes Restaurant. This week’s speakers will be Matt Wiederhold and Dale Keller on “What’s New at the Prineville Railway.” The community forum is free and open to the public, and breakfast is available for purchase.

There will be a training on “Public and Permanent: Prevent Sexting, Cyber Bullying and Beyond!” to learn how to prevent digital issues like sexting, cyber bullying, and irresponsible use of apps, poor social media behaviors and sexual exploitation. It will take place at the COCC-Crook County Open Campus, 510 S.E. Lynn Blvd on Wednesday, April 30. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program will be from 6 to 8 p.m. The training event is free and it is appropriate for ages 12 and up. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food to be donated to “Food 4 Kids” weekend backpack program of Crook County.
