Troutdale resident Frederick E. Lee, 80, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, at a Gresham care facility. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Persimmon Country Club, 500 S.E. Butler Road, Gresham. Private interment will follow at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.

Frederick was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Palms, Calif., to Kenneth Guy and Edith Julia (Copeland) Lee. He was raised and educated in Southern California.

Frederick enlisted in the Navy on June 14, 1944. He served as an aeronautical engineer in aircraft design drafting. He was honorably discharged May 15, 1946.

He married Mary Ann Wilson on Aug. 20, 1949, in Denver.

He earned a bachelor's degree in design drafting and teaching at the University of California-Santa Barbara in 1950.

Frederick owned a printing shop in San Diego for 19 years. He moved to Troutdale with his wife in 2000.

He enjoyed doing landscaping and photography.

Survivors include his wife of Troutdale; sons, Richard Lee of Gresham and Russell Lee of Northern California; daughter, Mary Hardin of Walla Walla, Wash.; brother, William Lee of Fallbrook, Calif.; sister, Verna Froese of Walla Walla; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
