by: JONATHAN HOUSE, TOP COMPETITOR — Jessi Crawford of Tualatin was ranked sixth in a national dressage competition.

Seventeen-year-old Jessi Crawford, of Tualatin, was recently ranked sixth in a national dressage riding competition.

Crawford rode in the 2006 United States Equestrian Federation Dressage Seat Medal Finals July 29 at Rancho Murieta's Equestrian Center in California. She rode in the 14-to-18 age bracket with her horse Quest.

She was one of 18 kids invited to compete in the competition. Crawford's invitation also marked the first time someone from the state of Oregon was invited to attend and compete at the event.

This year Oregon actually had two residents attend the competition - a girl from Hillsboro competed in the 13 and under age category.

Crawford's invitation to the national event came after she won a regional dressage competition.
