Gresham police are investigating a Tuesday night stabbing at the skate park and have identified a person of interest.

Officers responding to a 9:20 p.m. report of the stabbing at East Powell Boulevard and Southeast Roberts Avenue discovered the victim - identified as Spensor Hill, 21, of Gresham - was already on his way to Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center with a stab wound, said Sgt. Wally Coon, Gresham police spokesman.

Witnesses also reported a loud altercation involving a group of about 30 juveniles in the area.

Officers talked to the victim at the emergency room, where he was receiving stitches to close a stab wound near his right armpit. The man reportedly told police that an argument broke out near the skate park between two groups of men in their late teens. The argument became a fight in which he was stabbed.

The victim told police that although he was able to see his attacker, he didn't recognize him as anyone he knows.

Police recovered evidence from the crime scene but a K-9 search for the suspect was not successful because of the large number of people involved.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Gresham police at 503-618-2318.
