California goes into Saturday's game as a double-digit favorite for a reason. The Bears rank with Southern Cal and Oregon as the top three teams in the Pac-10 right now.

I'm not discounting an upset. The Beavers have had the Bears' number in recent years, having won six of the last seven in the series. Arizona State tailback Ryan Torain gained 191 yards against the Cal defense last Saturday, and OSU's Yvenson Bernard did the same kind of thing a year ago.

Cal isn't Idaho, though. And this one probably will be too tough for the Beavers to win, even at home.

The pick: California 28, Oregon State 20
