Dust was flying in the Stafford area July 16 during 'The Stomp,' the first fundraiser of its kind for the Vital Life Foundation.

The Western-themed event was held at Rifkin Farm off Southwest Long Farm Road in West Linn, and featured a barbecue dinner, auction, casino games and live music.

The down-home activities at hand included a horse show, tethered hot air balloon and mechanical bull rides and even a cow pie toss.

The fundraiser brought out hundreds of locals - including some in chaps and cowboy boots.

The Vital Life Foundation, the result of a collaboration between Consonus Healthcare and Marquis Companies, works to support youth, wellness, education, families, women and seniors. It has partnered with an array of charities that complement its values and mission, from the Alzheimer's Association to Meals on Wheels to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Overall, The Stomp raised more than $310,000 for the foundation.
