Children's Cancer Association Forward Motion Walk, 50 Jesuit High School students walked 17 miles Sept. 30 from Gresham to downtown Portland and raised $13,700. Proceeds benefit the Portland-based nonprofit association, which serves seriously ill children and their families.

The Rally for a Cure, a golf fundraiser hosted Sept. 21 by the Awbrey Glen Golf Club in Bend, raised $4,500 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. More than 60 members participated in the 18-hole event, which included a silent auction.
