Man critical after single-car crash

A driver was critically injured in a single-car crash on Northeast Lombard Street this morning. The street was closed from 28th to 33rd as crews from Portland Power and Light repair a power pole involved in the crash.
Police were not immediately able to identify the driver. Based on the investigation, officers determined that both speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
According to police, at 5:15 a.m. on June 15, officers responded to the report of a single vehicle crash into a power pole in the 3200 block of Northeast Lombard Street. Officers and medical personnel arrived and found the car to occupied by what appears to be an adult male. Medical personnel worked to free the man from the car and he was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division's Major Crash Team is conducting the investigation.
