Woman likely had seizure, police say, while driving near milepost 289


The driver of a car that flipped onto his top while driving on Interstate 5 near Tualatin has been taken to an area hospital after Tualatin Police say she had a seizure near the Southwest Nyberg Road on ramp.

Amy Blankenheim, 33, of Salem, was driving north on Interstate 5 at about 8 a.m. Thursday morning when she suffered what police describe as a seizure.

by: OREGON STATE POLICE - Blankenheim’s 2006 Mercury sort utility vehicle swerved to the right and collided with the a passing car, then struck an impact barrier and flipped onto its top near milepost 289.

The crashed car blocked the northbound off-ramp and Blankenheim was trapped inside the SUV upside down.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and were able to safely remove Blankenheim from the vehicle.

An ambulance took to Oregon Health & Science University with non-life-threatening injuries.
