SANDY, Utah -- The Portland Timbers fell to 0-11-4 on the road this season with a 2-1 loss Saturday at Real Salt Lake.

The Timbers (7-15-8 overall) have two more chances to get a road win. They will play Oct. 7 at Seattle and Oct. 21 at Vancouver.

Real Salt Lake, which clinched its fifth consecutive MLS playoff berth, improved to 15-11-4.

RSL scored on two set pieces in the first half to lead 2-0, then withstood the Timbers' comeback attempt. The goals came in the 14th and 36th minutes, by forward Fabian Espindola and midfielder Javier Morales.

Bright Dike scored in the 61st minute for the Timbers. It was his third goal in eight games. Dike had a shot go off the crossbar late in the game.

Sal Zizzo got his career-high fourth assist, and Portland's Joe Bendik made three saves.

RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando made four saves.

The Timbers' next match is at Jeld-Wen Field against D.C. United on Saturday, Sept. 29. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
