Interested in tracing your family history but don't know where to start? Two experts will give tips at the monthly meeting of the Genealogical Society of Washington County.

One is Barbara Hovorka, a longtime teacher at family history conferences, seminars and workshops. She will speak on getting the most out of “Google Books” and “Family Search” Internet sites.

The other is Hilary Ortland, a librarian at the Hillsboro Library, who will speak on what resources the library has available to genealogists.

The meeting is free and open to both members and the public. It will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 13, Main Library, 2850 N.E. Brookwood Parkway.
