Seniors admitted free on Oct. 24

Seniors 62 years and older will be treated to a discounted admission at the World Forestry Center Discovery Museum during Senior Day on Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year’s fiesta theme will include lively music, bingo with prizes and a snack of nachos with cheese.

The event encourages seniors to explore the World Forestry Center Discovery Museum with their family, friends and peers. Guests will view the exhibit “Timberrr! A Nostalgic Look Back at Working in the Woods” through vintage photographs, antique tools and a rare motion picture film.

The museum offers interactive exhibits that engage visitors to learn about forests and environmental stewardship. Visitors can take a simulated white water raft ride, try their smoke jumping skills or see the forests from a bird’s-eye-view on the canopy bridge.

The World Forestry Center Discovery Museum is located at 4033 S.W. Canyon Road, in Portland.
