by: SUBMITTED PHOTOS - Beate Scheller's Mountain VillageThe Portland Open Studios tour will be held Oct. 13-14 and Oct. 20-21 in artists’ studios around the Portland metropolitan area. The tour — now in its 14th year — began as a way for artists to connect more directly with the community and share the creative process more intimately.

The tour guide can be purchased for $15 and admits two people to all the studios, on all four days of the tour. Children under 18 are admitted free of charge. The guide comes with images of artworks, coupons and an opportunity to win prizes. Also included is a foldout map with contact information and directions to the studios.

Carolyn Hazel Drake's Figures for Betty FevesTourists are welcome to visit any of the artists’ studios between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. both weekends.
