Recent matches ÑÊOregon's three falls gave it the victory over No. 16 Nebraska after the teams tied 24-24 last week at Lincoln, Neb. The Ducks then lost 26-16 at Northern Iowa. É Oregon State lost 31-10 at No. 1-ranked Minnesota, but the Beavers' Casey Horn upset second-ranked 141-pounder Chad Erickson 6-5. É Portland State and Southern Oregon each won five matches, but PSU lost 21-15 at home because the defending NAIA champion Raiders had two falls. PSU came back Wednesday with a 26-15 home win over Cal State Fullerton. Jeremy Wilson tied Rick Sanders on the schools all-time win list with his 103rd victory.


TIMBERS: Portland has signed its third player for 2002, inking Syrian striker Fadi Afash, 27, who joins goalkeeper Matt Napoleon and defender Gavin Wilkinson on the roster. The Timbers open a 28-game season May 4 at home against Seattle. All home games, including a July 4 match with Indiana, will be at 7 p.m. Portland, Seattle, Vancouver and expansion Calgary will be in the Pacific, one of four A-League divisions.
