6A VOLLEYBALL - Barlow answers the challenge in Game 2 and sweeps the Crusaders
by: David Ball Barlow’s Meg Marlett, 10, and Danelle Woodcock work for a block Tuesday night.

Barlow's volleyball team picked up a three-game sweep over Metro-power Jesuit on Tuesday night, shocking the 6A runner-up from last season.

The Bruins set the tone in the opening set when Kaylee Ree served seven straight points, including an ace in the mix, to push Barlow to a quick 15-6 margin.

'That's something we talked about all week, staying disciplined and being crisp right from the start,' Bruins coach Jessie Camp said.

The Bruins turned away their biggest challenge in Game 2, fighting off a series of set points before Margaret Paul hit a kill shot through the heart of the Crusaders defense to win the game by a 30-28 count.
