Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies began searching the area on Friday morning for a 64-year-old man who escaped a gated care facility in Oak Grove.
On Dec. 7, at about 8 a.m., CCSO deputies received the report from the Milwaukie Care Center, which specializes in schizophrenic adults and adults with traumatic brain injuries, saying that one of its residents, identified as Rodolfo "Rudy" Iorio, was missing. He was last seen there at 4:30 a.m. and discovered missing from the facility around 6 a.m.
He is described as being a Filipino male, 5-foot-8, thin build, with black-and-gray hair, an Oakland Raiders baseball hat, tan jacket, green shirt and blue jeans. He speaks very little English.
Police say Iorio has struggled with long-term mental health issues and may be fearful or defensive if approached. Call 911 if you see or locate him.
Iorio most recently lived in Portland and may have headed that direction. Someone reportedly saw him at about 11:15 a.m. talking with friends on Hawthone Boulevard, where he had taken a TriMet bus.
He is listed as missing and endangered, but deputies had ended their active searching by the afternoon and are hoping that another sighting will help locate him.
