Apply to a city citizen group

Citizen advisory groups inform the West Linn City Council on issues of importance to the community. Due to term expiration dates, there will be openings on eight citizen advisory boards in 2013. The city council will make appointments in January 2013 to the following citizen advisory groups:

  • Economic development committee
  • Historic review board
  • Library board
  • Parks and recreation board
  • Planning commission
  • Sustainability advisory board
  • Transportation advisory board
  • Utility advisory board
  • The time obligations and responsibilities vary for each citizen advisory group.  More information about each group can be found in Chapter 2 of the West Linn Municipal Code at

    Robinwood series continues

    The Robinwood Station is continuing its Bobbin’ Robin concert series with two more performances.

    On Dec. 22, there will be a community bonfire and sing-along at 7 p.m. Large-print lyrics will be handed out. There will be a practice before the concert for any guitar players who want to participate. Hot chocolate and cider will be served and participants are encouraged to bring cookies to share.

    On Jan. 19, 2013, at 7 p.m., Orb Bones, a four-piece trombone group that performs a variety of material from classical to pop is scheduled.

    Library seeks Lego donations

    The West Linn Public Library is going to launch a Lego club in January and needs donations of new or used Lego bricks or Duplo blocks. The library prefers mixed Lego bricks rather than play sets, but it will take anything residents are willing to donate.

    The city of West Linn will post winter weather information on its home page and on its Facebook page and Twitter when necessary.  

    The winter weather route map shows primary and secondary snow plowing, de-icing routes and streets subject to closure during snowy and icy weather in West Linn.

    Please note that primary snow and ice routes include major and minor streets, with the focus on facilitating access to local arterials. Other collector and neighborhood streets are the secondary focus, and will be addressed after primary routes are cleared.

    Apply for the Old Time Fair Court

    Applications for the 2013 West Linn Old Time Fair Court are currently being accepted from any eighth-grade girl residing within the West Linn-Wilsonville School District.

    Public, private and home-school students are encouraged to apply. Application packets are available at West Linn City Hall at the Parks and Recreation Department or online at

    Parents of prospective applicants are invited to attend an open house Jan. 14 from 6 to 7 p.m. Members of the Old Time Fair Court Committee will present information about the application and selection process and responsibilities of serving on the court. Representatives with the 2012 Old Time Fair Court and their parents will be on hand to answer individual questions about their experience.The deadline to return completed applications is Jan. 25, 2013 at 5 p.m. Selection interviews will take place Feb. 20, 2013 at the McLean House at 6 p.m.
