SERVICE OPPORTUNITY — The city of Lake Oswego is seeking a 21- to 35-year-old to serve on the city’s Comprehensive Plan Citizen Advisory Committee. The 15-member committee, convened in 2010, meets one Thursday each month. Members are committed to serve through July 2013.

The group provides recommendations to the planning commission and city council related to the ongoing update of the city’s comprehensive plan, a long-term vision and set of planning policies that guide land use, transportation systems and utilities in Lake Oswego.

POLICE — When law enforcement officials descended on Clackamas Town Center in the aftermath of a tragic shooting last week, Lake Oswego officers were also there to help. According to the Lake Oswego Police Department, three local detectives helped interview witnesses after the Dec. 11 incident, and additional officers headed over to help with crowd control.

CITY HALL HOURS — City offices will be closed Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas.

METRO — Lake Oswego City Councilor Donna Jordan will again represent Clackamas County cities on JPACT, Metro’s Joint Policy Advisory Committee on Transportation, with Wilsonville Mayor Tim Knapp serving as the alternate. She was nominated at a meeting of the cities earlier this month.
