MHC FOOTBALL - Barlow holds off pesky Celtics to move to 3-1 in nonleague play

The McNary Celtics stifled Barlow's potent passing attack all the night. Forced to rely on the running game, Luke Burkhardt rushed for 173 yard on 23 carries, and Nick Bieber contributed with nine carries for 78 yards as the Bruins defeated the Celtics 26-23 on Friday.

The Celtics' pass rush pushed around the Bruins (3-1) offensive line, forcing Campbell Summerfield out of the pocket for much of the night.

Yet, the Bruins were able to run at will, as long runs of 50 yards and 68 yards each set up touchdowns.

'They just seemed to be a lot better at the pass rush than the run,' said Bruins' running back Luke Burkhardt, who had one touchdown. 'We just got a lot better push on the line when running. We were just trying to exploit the line of scrimmage.' ....
