RACING - The Nusom brothers and Dave Walters finish as season points leaders

More than 100 drivers compete every week during the sixth month long stock car racing season at River City Speedway. At the beginning of the season in April, many competitors were simply hoping to finish among the top-five in their respective point standings in the speedway's six classifications.

Some of the elite drivers who have enjoyed remarkable success this year include the Gresham trio of Curt Nusom, John Nusom and Dave Walters - each closing out season championships during Saturday's final weekend of racing.

Veteran racer car driver Curt Nusom, 49, captured the seventh championship of his 21-year career by winning the Sportsman Division championship. The Nusom brothers, along with Curt's son Brad had a combined effort as co-drivers on the Nusom Racing team that also won the Street Stock Division title. Walters won eight of 10 races to capture the Pacific Mini Sprint championship...
