Jennifer Schiele will become the new principal of Lakeridge High School following the retirement of Mike Lehman, effective July 1, 2012.
Schiele joined the district as a counselor at Waluga Junior High School in 2003 and was named vice principal at Waluga one year later. She moved to Lakeridge with Mike Lehman in 2005, serving as assistant principal until being appointed principal at Waluga in 2008. She is currently completing her doctoral program at Lewis and Clark College.
'Jennifer Schiele is a top administrative talent who is well-suited to continue building with the Lakeridge community what she and Mike Lehman started six years ago,' said Superintendent Bill Korach. 'Given her strong track record as an administrator at Waluga and Lakeridge, and her existing relationships with staff and families, she has the credentials, experience, and support that make her the ideal choice for this key leadership role in the district.'
This administrative change will create an opening for the principal position at Waluga for 2012-2013, which will be a critical transition year as moves sixth-grade students to the middle level. It is anticipated that additional administrative appointments, including the best candidate to follow Schiele as principal of Waluga, will be announced sometime after winter break.
