Nilsen to give benefit concert

April 16, 2003 — Recording artist John Nilsen will perform in a benefit concert for Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity at 7 p.m., Friday, April 25, at the United Methodist Church in Madras.
The public is invited to attend for an evening of music, coffee and dessert.
Currently one of the Northwest’s largest selling musical artists, Nilsen has 13 recordings to his name, most of which were released on his highly successful independent record company Magic Wing. The pianist and composer is known for his original melodic themes, which touch on the experiences of people’s lives.
Nilsen gives over 150 annual performances, including national tours of the U.S., Great Britain and Japan. Often accompanied by many of the finest musicians from the Northwest, he is an innovative keyboardist who creates an intimate atmosphere with his audience.
He has appeared with such artists as Jose Feliciano, Jesse Colin Young, Kenny G, Alex De Grassi and David Foster.
