eral Halloween events are scheduled in the Madras area:
   Pre-Halloween movie, Oct. 27: Alfred Hitchcock's thriller "Psycho" will be shown for free at the Jefferson County Library Community Film Center at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27. This will be a Halloween party with refreshments, so come in costume. The film center is located at 134 S.E. E St., Madras.
   Tuesaday, Oct. 31
   Mountain View Living Center: The Mountain View Living Center will host its annual Trick or Treat event on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
   People of all ages are invited to come in costume for candy and surprises in a safe and fun environment.
   Each year the Living Center residents look forward to this traditional event. The residents see nearly 1,700 visitors come through to trick or treat each year.
   East Cascade Assisted Living: The East Cascade center invites trick-or-treaters to stop by for treats on Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., at all five houses A through D.
   Children's Carnival: A free Medieval Times Children's Carnival will be held at Westside Elementary from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Oct. 31, with a cupcake walk, face painting and many other games and prizes. This is a fun evening for all ages. The event is sponsored by Living Hope Christian Center.
   Chamber Contest: The Madras Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a costume contest among area businesses on Oct. 31. A panel of judges will stop by businesses that have signed up to be judged, then decide the winners.
   Carnival: The Free Methodist Church will hold a free Carnival from 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31, with games, food and fun, at the church at 976 South Adams Drive, Madras.
