Jose Adame of Madras has opened Cross Interpreting Services to assist with communication between the English and Spanish communities.
Adame moved to Madras three years ago from Orange County, Calif., and has been working as a medical assistant since 1988, including at the Mount Jefferson Community Clinic.
In his work, he had interpreted for the non-Spanish/English speaking communities for years, and in January, completed a Healthcare Interpreting program and opened his own business.
Cross Interpreting Services provides comprehensive, professional and high quality interpreting, with confidentiality and ready accessibility.
"I have a vision to empower the non-English/Spanish speaking communities to access medical services, business organizations, religious outlets and community partners in the Central Oregon area," Adame said.
Cross Interpreting Services in Madras is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call 771-2522 for an appointment.
