   Author's talk on "The Mystique of Gateway (Madras): Conjuring the Past" at 12 to 1 p.m., at the senior center.
   Author visits Madras and Culver high schools to talk about developing memorable characters in writing.
   Fly fishing lessons: Ten MHS students' names will be drawn to receive 10 hours of fly fishing lessons from Pete Carlson.

   Writers workshop -- "Writing from Memory: How to Use Personal Experience in Writing Fiction." (Workshop is full).
   "Conversation With Craig" at 1 p.m., at the Warm Springs Library.
   "A Celebration of the Small Town, Working-Class West, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Rodriguez Annex of the library.
