Wolves, Tigers to open water polo playoffs

CORVALLIS - The Tualatin High School boys and girls water polo teams, as well as the Tigard girls water polo team, will open postseason play this week.
The unbeaten Tualatin girls, who are the defending Class 6A state champions, open postseason play Friday when they face Sprague, the No. 4 team from the Southern Oregon Conference, in a state playoff game set to start at 3 p.m. at he Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis.
If the Wolves win that game, they'll face either Lincoln or Reynolds in a state tournament quarterfinal game Friday at 8:50 p.m. at the Osborn Aquatic Center.
The Tualatin boys enter the state playoffs tentatively as the No. 4 team from the Pacific Conference. If Tualatin stays in the No. 4 spot, it will open the playoffs Saturday with a 12:40 p.m. game against Southern champion South Eugene.
If the Wolves win that game, they'll face either David Douglas or Sunset in a tournament quarterfinal game Saturday at 7:40 p.m.
The Tigard girls, who are the No. 3 seed from the Pacific Conference, will face Redmond, the No. 2 seed from the Southern Oregon Conference, Friday at 9:10 a.m. If the Tigers win that game, they'll take on David Douglas or Sunset in a tourney quarterfinal game at 5:20 p.m.
The remainder of the state tournament will be played Nov. 11-12 at the Osborn Aquatic Center.
