>Light week lets teams prep for home tournament
The Culver boys basketball team had a light week on the hardwood last week, winning its only game of the week Tuesday, 65-44, in Dufur.
Fueled by three players scoring in double figures, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 16-7 lead after the first period, then put the game on ice with a 19-8 advantage in the third period.
Culver's Gerson Gonzalez led all scorers with 21 points, while Clay Gibson poured in 18.
Jon Slaght was Culver's third leading scorer with 10 points.
The Bulldogs will now turn their attention to the Crane Mustangs, their opponent in the opening round of the Culver Booster Club Invitational on Friday. Tip off is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Culver High School.

In Dufur, the Culver girls basketball team just couldn't get anything going in a loss to the Rangers on Tuesday.
Culver head coach Scott Fritz said was just stagnant and sluggish, and that it was a game he would just rather toss to the wayside and start fresh when the team plays Crane at 5 p.m. Friday in the Culver Booster Club Invitational.
