The Friends of Robinwood Station - West Linn's newest community center - will hold its second annual post Christmas styrofoam and plastic recycling fundraiser Dec. 26 and 27.

West Linn citizens can bring in their Styrofoam peanuts, block Styrofoam (#6) and the hard plastic molded packaging known as 'blister packaging.'

These items cannot be recycled curbside. Every year, these items are either mistakenly put into the recycling bins or fill up the trashcans and end up in the landfills. However, there are places that can properly recycle these items. The Friends of Robinwood Station is willing to collect these items and take them to the proper recycling centers.

Donations are encouraged, as it is a fundraiser for the volunteer-run community center, and there are also now fees being charged to recycle Styrofoam. Five dollars is the suggested donation, but any donation will be accepted.

The event will be held at the Robinwood Station (formerly the old Cedaroak Fire Station), located at 3706 Cedaroak Drive, one block down from Highway 43.

Recycling will be accepted Dec. 26 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Dec. 27 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

While you are there, feel free to come in and explore West Linn's newest community center.
