>Bennett brings years of experience both as a head and assistand coach to the Crook County program
Crook County High School announced today that they have hired a new head football coach.
"We have hired Woody Bennett as our football coach," said Athletic Director Casey Waletich.
Bennett brings a wealth of experience to the job both as a head coach and as an assistant.
As the head coach at Philomath High School he won a state championship in the late 1980's and he has been an assistant coach at Bend High School for the last 11 years.
"He did a variety of things at Bend," said Waletich. "He helped out wherever they needed help. He was kind of Craig Walker's go-to guy. I think last year he worked with the offensive line, but he was just an assistant for Walker over there."
Crook County did not have a teaching position to go with the coaching opening, which is not going to be a problem for Bennett as he is retired and does not need a teaching position.
