liam ( Bill) Franklin Campbell Jr., a Prineville resident, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2007. He was 72 years old.
A graveside service will be held Monday, April 2 at 10 a.m. at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
He was born in Hood River, Ore., on April 5, 1934, the son of William and Jaynette (Gauthier) Campbell. His family moved to Central Valley, Calif., in October of 1940 and Bill attended school there. In January 1955, Bill joined the United States Navy and was commissioned to the USS Shelton.
On June 28, 1958 he married Leona Ellen McIntyre in Prineville. Bill's military term ended in January 1959, and he worked at Coin Millwork and Clear Pine Lumber Company as a lift truck operator until his retirement. Bill was a current member of the American Legion Post 29, and was a past member of the Eagles Club in Prineville.
Bill enjoyed many hobbies during his lifetime which included restoring old cars, camping, hunting, fishing, and motorcycle riding with friends and family.
Bill is survived by: his three daughters Chrissie Wise and her husband, David, Jeanne Jensen and her husband Ed, all of Prineville, Marcia Tidwell and her husband, Max of Buckley, Wash.; two brothers, Lawrence and Roger; two sisters Jeannine Julian and Virginia White, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, and one grandson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pioneer Memorial Hospice, 1201 NE Elm St., Prineville, Oregon 97754.
