line Aleta Boyd of Prineville died Sun., Jan. 6. She was 87 years old.
She was born Oct. 12, 1914 to Herbert and Grace (Davis) Smith in Elizabethtown, Tenn. She attended and graduated from Mitchell schools.
She attended Western Oregon State College, graduating in 1934 and married Raymond Boyd that same year.
She taught school for 10 years in Mitchell before moving to Prineville where she continued to teach. She retired in 1987.
Her interests included playing the piano, animals, reading and playing Bridge with friends.
Survivors include her son, Scott and his wife Melony Boyd of Spokane, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the Ochocos.
No services will be held. Disposition will be at Juniper Haven Cemetery. Whispering Pines Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
