the editor: People who own pets need to be responsible for them. Whether you are walking your dog on a leach or allowing them to run loose, leaving feces on others property is wrong. We do have a state statue that is enforced by the Crook County Sheriff’s office. ORS 609-095 states: Allowing dogs to be a public nuisance is breaking the law. That also includes: running at large, nuisance barking, destroying other people’s property (not cleaning up feces left by your dog), biting etc. Be a good neighbor and a responsible pet owner. Citations and court can cost time and money. Amy McCully Prineville
